SIEMA submits proposal for common facility center

The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers’ Association (SIEMA) will complete a study in two months and submit a proposal to the Government for a common facility centre for valve industries.

The project is expected to commence by the end of this year. Nearly 80% of the cost will be extended as grant by the Union Government.

For the pumpset industry, artificial intelligence and internet of things will be future of the sector. The association will organise programmes and trainings for its members to give them an exposure to technological advancements.

In the domestic market, the Government has introduced e-way bill. This is expected to create a single, competitive market in the country.

The newly-elected office-bearers of the association for 2018-2019 are: V. Krishnakumar, Vice-President - Marketing of Aquasub Engineering (president), and K.V. Karthik, Managing Partner of Deccan Industries, D. Vignesh, Managing Partner of Ellen Industries, and Mithun Ramdas, Director of Mahendra Pumps (vice-presidents).
