Wärtsilä signs a O&M contract with Arkay

The technology group Wärtsilä will support the Indian company Arkay Energy (Rameswarm) Limited to reach higher electrical output and productivity, better operational security and increased efficiency of its power plant in a remote and developing area. The renewed operations and maintenance agreement was signed in June 2017 for another five years.

The agreement covers the full operation and maintenance of the Arkay Energy power plant which runs on natural gas, enhancing the installation’s reliability and efficiency throughout its lifecycle.

Wärtsilä’s services include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the plant’s 16 Wärtsilä 34SG engines running on gas, auxiliaries, waste heat recovery boilers and steam turbine as well as a 110 KV switchyard. The scope also includes manpower services, spare parts and consumables.

Arkay Energy (Rameswarm) Limited is a subsidiary of Ind-Barath Power Infra Limited (IBPIL) holding company. Power from the Arkay Energy plant is exported to customers in the state of Tamil Nadu through the Tamil Nadu Grid.
